Trial Policy:
New and used instruments have a seven day trial period, unless express written permission has been given to extend the trial period, the time of which will be left to the discretion of H. Karlsson Woodwinds.  H. Karlsson Woodwinds reserves the right to refuse to extend the trial period.  Any instrument kept past the seven day trial period without written permission will be considered purchased and no refunds on deposits will be given.  Any instrument kept past the agreed upon return date or kept without setting a return date after permission has been granted will be considered purchased and no refunds will be given.  Returned instruments must be returned in proper playing condition or a 15% restocking fee will be charged to cover the necessary repairs.  Deposit equalling the full amount for purchase is required for a trial period. 

Any instrument with the following problems not present upon the original date of purchase will not be eligible for returns/refunds:
Cracks
Scratches
Abrasions
Broken or chipped tenons
Damaged key work
Damaged plating (scratches, abrasions, etc.)
Cracked barrels/bells
Missing parts
Missing case

Accessories Return Policy:
No returns on reeds.  Exchanges can be made if the box of reeds is unopened.
No returns on books.
No returns on cork grease.
No returns on ligatures.
No returns on ligature caps. 
No returns on reed cases. 
No returns on instrument cases UNLESS there is a mechanical failure (like a zipper failing or a pocket separating from the rest of the case).  You have thirty days and the case has to be in decent condition.
No returns on neck straps. 
Mouthpiece returns will be accepted within seven days of purchase ONLY if returned in the original, unscathed condition.  Scratches, teethmarks, and chips will be considered damage and therefore no money will be refunded.  If the mouthpiece is returned in original condition with the receipt or record thereof, a $5.00 restocking fee will be deducted from the total to cover sanitization and cleaning costs.

I DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS OR EXCHANGES ON PURCHASES MADE FROM OTHER MUSIC STORES.

Warranty Policy:
NEW INSTRUMENTS
New Buffet-Crampon instruments are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.  Currently the warranty stands at two years for cracks and mechanical failure.  Also, new Buffet-Crampon instruments purchased through H. Karlsson Woodwinds receive free maintenance for a calendar year starting on date of purchase. 

New Gao Royal Musical Collection instruments are covered by the manufacturer's warranty.  Currently the warranty stands at one year for cracks and mechanical failure.  Also, Gao instruments purchased through H. Karlsson Woodwinds receive free maintenance for a calendar year starting on date of purchase.

What is included in the year of free maintenance:
Minor adjustments
Tenon cork replacement
Joint refitting
Acoustical work
Discounts on any type of overhaul for the purchased instrument scheduled within a year from the purchase date
Discounts on custom keywork or tone hole inserts for the purchased instrument scheduled within a year from the purchase date

What is not included in the year of free maintenance:
Abuse, neglect, incineration (whether purposeful or accidental), flinging the instrument down the stairs or across the room, the dog/cat/younger sibiling/older sibling/boyfriend/girlfriend/roommate eating it, acts of the Almighty, leaving it in the car, livestock, marching band (unless it's a plastic instrument), acts of war, weather emergencies, alien activity, or Mythbusters-type experiments.

USED INSTRUMENTS
Factory warranties are non-transferable and therefore are not available for used instruments.

H. Karlsson Woodwinds, the owner of H. Karlsson Woodwinds, or any associates or subsidiaries of H. Karlsson Woodwinds is not responsible for losses (financial or otherwise) incurred for failure to follow the policies listed below.
